Ravellian Calendar

Since the beginning of recorded time on Ayrdonya, there have been numerous means to calculate dates. The system presented here is by far the most commonly used at this time. The Ravellian System, created by the talented mage and scholar Ravel, bases its numerology from an exact date and is a solar-based calendar (thus the seasons and months always correspond). This date, the 6th day of Janala, is when the mages of Wizard Trap, and the gods themselves, banished Corpusius to the Plane of Portasias. The year following this event is often referred to as the Days of Kusobitus, or the Time of Death. Dates before this event are labeled PK (Pre-Kusobitus) and dates after are labeled AK (After-Kusobitus). The current year is 1692 AK According to the Ravellian System, the year is divided into twelve months of thirty-one days each (totally 372 days a year). There isn’t a leap year, but every 53 years there is an extra day added to the month of Orbus that is known as the Biduum Murus, or the Day of Magic. Below are the names of the months.
